It worked absolutely fine in my Mum's HP Spectre, which you just plug straight into the computer, but when I plugged it into my USB-C to USB-A adapter and plugged it into my MacBook, it won't let me transfer files onto the hard drive. I went for Seagate, 1TB, because they have a good rep, and it was on sale at the time. I am a prospect university student heading off in about 3 weeks to study for my degree, which I bought the MacBook for - because the MBA only has 512gb of storage, my mum recommended I invested in a removable hard drive, especially as this would mean I had copies of my papers if anything went wrong either on the computer or the hard drive. I'm still new to MacBooks as this is my first one so sorry if this sounds super dumb. I really hope I can solve this problem here because the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away by car.
